Veterinary assistant CV with no clinic experience

Replace vague claims with evidence

Instead of “excellent with animals,” describe a real task. Example only: “Prepared feeding supplies during supervised shelter shifts and followed the team’s cleaning checklist.” If you have no animal-work experience, use a relevant example from another setting: “Confirmed appointment changes and handed unresolved requests to the next receptionist.” Add quantities only when you can verify them.

A useful short cover note answers three questions: Why this role? What example supports your fit? What do you need to learn? Example opening: “Your advert includes client communication and room preparation. My reception experience has taught me accurate handovers; I am looking for structured instruction in clinic routines.” Adapt it to the actual advert rather than sending identical claims everywhere.

Keep the most relevant information easy to find. Check contact details, dates, spelling and the requested file format. Remove client information, patient records and confidential workplace documents.
