PetCareers

Trust and safety

Safer pet-care work starts with clear standards

Use these role-specific steps to recognize risks, protect people and animals, and choose the right reporting or emergency path.

PetCareers is not an emergency service

If a person or animal faces immediate danger, contact local emergency services, law enforcement, or the appropriate animal-welfare authority first. Use platform reporting for moderation and follow-up evidence.

For job seekers
  • Never pay an employer, recruiter, or third party to access a job, interview, equipment, or training.
  • Verify the workplace, duties, schedule, compensation, and animal-handling expectations before sharing additional documents.
  • Use the report control on a job for scams, misleading claims, unsafe conditions, harassment, or animal-welfare concerns.
For employers
  • Publish accurate duties, workplace conditions, physical requirements, schedule, compensation, and credential expectations.
  • Follow lawful, non-discriminatory hiring and protect candidate data from unnecessary access, export, or retention.
  • Maintain documented animal-handling, incident, supervision, and escalation practices appropriate to the role.
Animal-welfare concerns
  • Record only the facts needed for review; avoid public accusations or unnecessary personal and medical information.
  • Escalate immediate danger to the competent local authority before relying on platform moderation.
  • Preserve relevant dates, listing details, and lawful evidence so administrators can assess the concern consistently.
For moderators
  • Keep reporter details and report text confined to authorized moderation workflows.
  • Record every status transition and a concise evidence-based rationale before resolving or dismissing a report.
  • Escalate credible imminent-harm, repeat-abuse, or legal-risk cases through the appropriate internal and external path.
